Part VII: Personnel Security � NAC/NACI Investigations

This option is used to add, change, and delete NAC and NACI investigations.

In this section, the data for the fields are obtained from the Agency/Bureau, and/or the investigating Agency documentation.

To Access the Personnel Security - NAC/NACI Investigations Option:

  1. Type 7 at the cursor.

    OR

    Position the cursor next to the Personnel Security - NAC/NACI Investigations option.

  2. Select the Enter key. The Part VII: Personnel Security NAC/NACI Investigations screen is displayed.

    Note: Although option 7 is listed separately on the Update Menu, it is displayed on the same screen with option 8, as one screen.

To Add Personnel Security - NAC/NACI Investigations Information:

  1. Complete the fields as follows:

    SSNO

    Agency/Bureau

  2. Select the Enter key. A system message SSNO Obtained is displayed.

    Note: If Part VII was completed when the SETS record was established, the fields will display that data. If no data was entered, the fields will be blank.

  3. Complete the fields as follows:

    Name

    Type Of Investigation

    Date NAC/NACI Requested

    Date NAC/NACI Returned UNA

    Date NAC/NACI Resubmitted

    Date NAC/NACI Scheduled

    Date NAC/NACI Completed

    Extra Coverage

    Date NAC/NACI Adjudicated

    OPM Closing Code

    OPM Case Status

  4. Select the Tab key to go to the next line.
  5. Refer to the instructions under Part VIII: Personnel Security - Other Investigations, if you need to complete Part VIII.

    OR

    Select the Enter key if you do not need to complete Part VIII. If the data passes system edits, the message Data Successfully Modified is displayed.

    If the data does not pass system edits, an error message will be displayed.

    Note: All data must be corrected before the SETS database is updated.

    At this point, the following options are available:

    • Select the F5 key to display the Help screen and to obtain assistance in completing any field.
    • Select the F12 key and repeat the above process or refresh the screen to query another individual’s record.
    • Select the applicable function key to perform another function or to exit.

To Change Personnel Security - NAC/NACI Investigations Information:

  1. Type the SSN in the SSNO field.
  2. Select the Enter key, at Part I. The data for that SSNO is displayed.
  3. Type the new data in accordance with the entry instructions under Adding Personnel Security - NAC/NACI Investigations Information.
  4. Select the Enter key. The message Data Successfully Modified is displayed.

To Delete Personnel Security - NAC/NACI Investigations Information:

  1. Space through each field that contains an entry.
  2. Select the Enter key.
