1 Enrolled

This field is system generated based on processing of FEHB form.

This code is not entered on the personnel action. Code 1 is generated by the PPS after the appropriate form SF-2809 or SF-2810 is entered and applies to the employee’s database salary record. FEHB deductions will begin during the pay period in which the SF-2809 or SF2810 is processed and applied to the database.

This code is entered on the 180 Health Benefits Registration document. Do not attempt to enter this code even if the option is known at the time of the accession.

2 Ineligible

Excluded from coverage under FEHB law or by regulations.

This code is entered on the Accession action.

This code is used if the employee is excluded from coverage by FEHB law or regulations.

3 Waived

Transfer into the Department; reemployment without a break in service of more than 3 days and canceled or waived coverage under prior Federal employment.

This code is entered on the 180 Health Benefits Registration document.

4 Eligible pending

Eligible-pending processing of FEHB form.

This code is entered on the Accession action and establish the employee's eligibility for FEHB. FEHB deductions generally begin the pay period after the SF 2809 or SF 2810 is received in the personnel office. Refer to the instructions for the SF 2809 for a list of exceptions to the effective date rules. 

If the FEHB document is processed during the same pay period as the accession personnel action, the output SF 50B is displayed if code 1 through 4 was entered. FEHB deductions will begin during the pay period in which the SF 2809 or SF 2810 is processed and applied to the database.

5 Canceled

Conditions same as Code 3.
