Transmission Methods

Transmitting 500- or 3450-Character Records. For software that can transmit 500- or 3450-character records, send 2 separate transmissions; 1 for the data file and 1 for JCL. Transmit the data file before JCL. If the software can support full-length records, transmit the JCL and data file simultaneously.

Agencies must access the Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF) to obtain the status of a transmission. See Title VI, Chapter 2, Section 2, for instructions on using ISPF.
