Eligibility

Authorized to Enter Enrollment

98-615 Civil Service Retirement Spouse Equity Act of 1984 (Law 1)

Former spouses or Federal employees or annuitants who are:

Divorced from the employee/annuitant during their employment or receipt of annuity covered as a family member under FEHB enrollment at least 1 day during the 18 months prior to the marriage ending.

Note: This requirement is met when both the former spouse and the Federal employee or annuitant have FEHB enrollments.

Entitled to a portion of the Federal employee's annuity or to a former spouse annuity and has not remarried before reaching age 55.

100-654 Federal Employees' Health Benefits Amendments Act of 1988 (TCC)

Former Federal employees who separate are eligible.

Children of the Federal employee who lose FEHB coverage.

Former spouses of Federal employee/annuitants who lose their status as family members.

101-303 Annuitants (Laws 4)

Federal employee/annuitants requesting to make contributions for health benefits through direct payments rather than through annuity withholdings if the annuity is insufficient to cover the required withholdings and for other purposes.

Department of Defense civilian employees who are involuntarily separated due to a reduction in force beginning October 23, 1992.

111-5 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Law 5)

Any Federal employee who is terminated from employment involuntarily from 08/01/2009 through 05/31/2010 is eligible for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) premium assistance.
