Updated Access Procedures for MyEPP

Summary

To enhance security, multi-factor authentication (MFA) for the Employee Personal Page (EPP) has been modified by removing the user identification (ID) and password login process. Access to EPP is now limited to the following methods:

Note: Non-Federated users must register their PIV with USDA eAuthentication (eAuth) before logging in to EPP.

The National Finance Center (NFC) has removed the following functionality in EPP:

MyEPP Login Page Changes

Previously, the Choose a Sign In Option box had two options:

This has been changed to only offer Sign in with PIV/Login.gov.

Registration:

There are two ways for non-Federated users to register to use EPP:

Using EPP:

To use EPP with the new access parameters, you must register first. Once registered, access EPP via PIV or Login.gov. 

Logging in:

There are three ways to log in to EPP:

Logging in Using PIV/CAC (Federated)

  1. Access EPP at the NFC website. The Warning Banner is displayed.
  2. Select the I Agree button. The My Employee Personal Page is displayed.
  3. From the Choose a Sign In Option menu, select the Sign-in with the PIV/Login.gov button. The Agency Selection popup appears.
  4. Choose the applicable Agency and select the Continue button. The user is taken to the appropriate Agency authentication page. 

Note: USDA users will be directed to the USDA Federal Login page.

  1. Follow the prompts as applicable.
  2. Select the Log In with PIV/CAC button to log in. The Select a Certificate page is displayed.
  3. Select the applicable certificate. The ActivClient Login popup is displayed. 
  4. Enter your PIN.
  5. Select the OK button. You are connected to EPP.

Logging in Using PIV/CAC (Non-Federated) 

  1. Access EPP at the NFC website. The Warning Banner is displayed.
  2. Select the I Agree button. The My Employee Personal Page is displayed.
  3. From the Choose a Sign In Option menu, select the Sign-in with PIV/Login.gov button. The Agency Selection popup appears.
  4. Select Create Account (or Need an account).
  5. Answer Yes if you have a PIV/CAC card and follow the prompts to register.
  6. Once registration is complete, select the PIV/CAC option to log in to eAuth. 

Logging in Using Login.gov (Non-Federated)

  1. Access EPP at the NFC website. The Warning Banner is displayed.
  2. Select the I Agree button. The My Employee Personal Page is displayed.
  3. From the Choose a Sign In Option menu, select the Sign-in with PIV/Login.gov button. The Agency Selection popup appears.
  4. Select Create Account (or Need an account).
  5. Answer No if you do not have a PIV/CAC card and follow the prompts to register.
  6. Once registration is complete, select the PIV/CAC option to log in to eAuth.
  7. Select Other from the drop-down menu. The Non-USDA Federal Login page is displayed.
  8. Select the Login.gov option.
  9. Follow the prompts to complete the login process for registration and identity verification.

Note: Users who do not have an account will need to create one, and if they have not completed the identity verification, they will be prompted to do so. 

Note: Users must contact the eAuth help desk if they experience any issues. Users having issues with Login.gov must submit a help ticket on the Login.gov website.

The EPP procedure is being updated to reflect the changes in this bulletin. To view the procedure, select HR and Payroll Clients from the MyNFC drop-down menu on the National Finance Center (NFC) Home page. At the HR and Payroll Clients page, select the Publications tab and select NFC System Documentation from the Publications Library section.
