Updates to Wage Board Shift Rate Variable

Summary

Updates have been made to the Web-based Entry, Processing, Inquiry, and Correction System (EPIC Web) and EmpowHR to reflect updated values in Table Management System (TMGT) Table101, Personnel Action Processing System (PACT) Screen Elements, for field 088, Wage-Board-Shift-Rate-Variable. The wage board shift rate field used for employees occupying Flexible Work Schedule (FWS) positions requiring them to work different shifts throughout an administrative workweek is now available for use.

TMGT	Updated TMGT Table 101, for NOAC 450 to make the Wage-Board-Shift-Rate-Variable field not required and to make the field optional on the specified NOACs listed below in the Implementation section.
EPIC Web	Added the Wage Board Shift Rate Variable field to the Salary tab. The field is a dollar amount field with format xx.xx.
EmpowHR	Updated the NFC Information page to make the Wage Board Shift Var field optional in the PAR Processing module.

EPIC Web

To update the Wage Board Shift Variable field, complete the following steps:

Select EPIC from the Main menu.
Select the applicable NOAC under the Personnel Actions folder.
Select any sub menu under Accessions.
Select the Salary Tab. The Variable Shift Differential field is located on the Salary Tab.

Note: This is an optional field. Enter the applicable wage board shift rate for employees occupying Flexible Work Schedule (FWS) positions requiring them to work different shifts throughout an administrative workweek.

EmpowHR

To udate the variable wage board shift, comeplete the following steps:

Select Hire Employee or HR Processing as applicable.
Enter the applicable employee information.
Select the applicable NOAC on the Data Control Tab.
Select on the NFC Information Link on the Job tab. The variable wage board shift rate is on the NFC Job Information page.

Note: This is an optional field. Enter the applicable wage board shift rate for employees occupying FWS positions requiring them to work different shifts throughout an administrative workweek.

To view these procedures, select HR and Payroll Clients from the MyNFC drop-down menu on the National Finance Center (NFC) Home page. At the HR and Payroll Clients page, select the Publications tab and select NFC System Documentation from the Publications Library section.
