Pay Periods 25, 26, and 27 Special Processing Instructions

Summary

Timekeepers are reminded of special time and attendance (T&A) processing instructions for Pay Periods (PP) 25, 26, and 27.

Implementation

Note: The instructions for each pay period are unique.

Pay Period 25

The first and second passes of the Payroll Processing System (PAYE) will run on Thursday, December 21, 2023, and Friday, December 22, 2023, respectively. However, T&As can be transmitted to the National Finance Center (NFC) as early as Friday, December 15, 2023, but no later than the close of business on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.

Pay Period 26

• The first and second passes of PAYE will run as scheduled on Thursday, January 4, 2024, and Friday, January 5, 2024. However, T&As can be transmitted to NFC as early as Friday, December 29, 2023, but no later than the close of business on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
• Full-time employees in a pay status who normally earn 6 hours of annual leave for each full pay period (Leave Category 6) will accrue 10 hours of annual leave for PP 26, the last full pay period of calendar year 2023.
• Full-time employees in Leave Category 6 who are in a nonpay status for all of PP 26, or who reach a multiple of 80 hours of a nonpay status in this pay period, will not accrue leave.

 

Pay Period 27

• Calendar year 2023 has 27 pay periods. PP 27 is divided between the current and next calendar year.
• The preparation of a split T&A to record emergency military leave (Transaction Code 68) or nonpay status hours used in PP 27 is required to ensure that these hours are charged to the appropriate year. If a split T&A is not prepared to record emergency military leave or nonpay status hours used in PP 27, these hours will be charged to the new calendar year.

To view this procedure, select HR and Payroll Clients from the MyNFC drop-down menu on the NFC Home page.
